Blackout was once again called upon to provide the production rigging and drapes for the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards held at the Echo Arena, Liverpool.

Working closely with the MTV Europe Music Awards' production team including James O'Brien and Maggie Mouzakitis, they provided a complex infrastructure of truss and rigging to meet the exact requirements of a detailed and demanding design.

In total Blackout flew 92tons of sound, lighting, video and rigging equipment including 10tons of actual lifting hoists from nearly 300 points. This included 32 hoists for sound, 90 for lighting and an incredible 80 hoists, 400m of Black H30v Prolyte Truss and a 10m Black Truss Circle for the integral XL Video BarcoMistrips Video ceiling which radiated out across the whole arena.
