Blackout used white coloured cut-up drapes to create a frame round the main stage for the Bat for Lashes' gigs at London's Koko Club. Bat for Lashes, aka Natasha Khan and supporting band, sold out at twice at Koko's, on 28 and 29 October, 2007.

Blackout's frame was for a storybook design by Misty Buckley. "Once again, Blackout has done us proud. The stage design received several rave reviews and Blackout was integral in helping us achieve a storybook theme."

The reviews included the following comments:

Bat's spectral mix of textured chamber-pop and avant-folk aims to conjure an atmosphere: on top of masks distributed at the entrance, the stage is a tree-decked, glittery winter wonderland, part-dreamscape, part-psychosexual grotto and part-appeal to the Jungian-at-heart childhood imagination's access to the universal consciousness (well, that sort of thing). It's a good fit for Bat's mantra-like incantations.
The Independent, Music Reviews, 31 October 2007, Kevin Harley

They have transformed the stage into an enchanted forest from Swan Lake: gnarled trees loom before an inky star-strewn sky, beneath swags of net fabric that billow like ballerina skirts.
The Guardian, Pop, Bat for Lashes, Tuesday, October 30, 2007, Maddy Costa

This success of the show was on the back of their mesmerising debut album, Fur and Gold - a haunting collection of songs that narrowly missed out earlier this year to Klaxons for the Mercury Music Prize.

Sadly Blackout won't be in action with Bat for Lashes again for a while as Natasha is taking time out to write her next album, so there are no plans for another live show in the foreseeable future.
