Steve founded Blackout in 1990 after 16 years of Rock and Roll touring as an electrician and rigger interspersed since 1983 with Corporate Event rigging, having hung his first "points" in Hammersmith Odeon whilst LD for Procul Harem in 1977. Blackouts first project was to rig all of the loudspeakers in the roof of Wembley Stadium for its PA System shortly followed by the same in Earls Court 2 but Steve concentrated on the draping side of the business for the next few years whilst taking on rigging projects for those clients who knew his background. Immensely proud of and reliant on the whole Blackout team Steve still enjoys managing a project when requested.

Chris Brain |

Chris came to Blackout through a chance meeting with Steve Tuck in a restaurant in Putney in 1994 and stayed. Originally with a catering background Chris brought commercial and management skills to the installation team along with an inordinate amount of humour accompanying his sensibility. Progressing rapidly to Project Management and thence responsibility for the whole department with his place on The Board in 2000, Chris still spends most of his time Managing a host of projects with his customary practical and imaginative flair.

Kevin Monks |

Kevin came to Blackout in 1997 and began in office administration progressing to the installation department and Project Management. Kevin became a Director in 2004 in recognition of his input and commitment to all elements of the Company and continues to manage projects while helping to keep an eye on the Marketing of Blackout. Kevin brings huge amounts of humour and creativity to his role and the peace of mind of many a Production Manager or Designer.

Martin Wood |

Martin joined Blackout as Warehouse Manager in 1995 bringing with him a wealth of management and commercial knowledge and skills. With his finger always firmly on the companies pulse Martin rose to oversee all operations becoming Director in 2000 and works tirelessly and wittily to ensure every last detail from the computer and heating systems to personnel and transport runs efficiently. Martin also has a passion for cars and has the beginnings of a Jaguar collection.

Tom Lambert |

Technical and Project Manager

Toms' title stems from his breadth of technical knowledge where engineering, rigging and draping are concerned. Tom also produces all of our CAD drawings and is responsible for much of our procurement even for other Project Managers jobs, still finding time to manage his own projects. Renowned for his solid reliability within the company Tom also has an enormous passion for fishing.

Tim has progressed seamlessly from six years as one of our installation technicians to Project Manager during 2005 and enjoys looking after key accounts and co-ordinating rigging and draping projects from initial enquiry to fruition. Having spent some time with the Royal Engineers Tim rises to the challenge of any situation.

Mickailah Fenlon |

Mickailah manages the crews and logistics for all installation and site work assisting the project management team and ensuring that all productions run smoothly. Mickailah has worked in various roles within the Events industry for the past ten years and enjoys dealing with a wide range of people on a daily basis.

Working in all areas, Ian spent many years specialising in starcloth manufacture before progressing into the installation team. He now brings his experience and attention to detail too many high profile events. |

Tomas Burcik |

Tomas left Slovakia in 2005 after studying Metallurgy, Total Quality Management and Health and Safety at University in Kosice. He immediately joined Blackout and soon became an essential member of the warehouse team. Working through the various departments, Tomas gained his extensive knowledge of drapes and rigging equipment which is integral to his present position of CAD operator, assisting the project management team.

Jenny Clark |

Drape Manufacture Manager

Jenny has been managing the busy sewing department since 1994 and overseeing the manufacture of every drape, starcloth or fabric element of a production. She liaises with project managers and designers to meet all specifications and deadlines and co-ordinates the sourcing of every fabric. Jenny delights in a challenging or pioneering project knowing the end result will look stunning and is originally theatre trained.
